It’s already March?

How did that happen?  WOW.  No pics right now…I am at work of course.  I am actually really busy, but decided I HAD to catch up a bit here!

Well, we’ve had a fun couple of months.  Mike turned 40 in February!  He actually had 3 birthday dinners.  His mom came out the week before his birthday – we had a lot of fun.

The Friday before his birthday, we went on a sleigh ride up the mountain.  It was pretty warm that day, and in the 30′s up top – really nice weather.  We rode the sleigh to a cabin where they serve dinner – it was yummy!  We brought wine, had steak and shrimp, and just had a nice time.  Olivia had her 1st babysitter – a lady from work that loves kids – I felt totally safe with her there, and she and Olivia had a blast!  I am so thankful to have found someone to look after her since mom, dad, me, mike, and darlene all went to dinner.  It was nice to have an adult’s night out.  Of course we were home by 9:30, but still!  We did have an ‘only in Idaho’ moment on the way home, though – while driving through a downtown neighborhood, we came upon flashing lights and lots of activities on the road.  Lo and behold, a cow (or bull, it was dark) was in the middle of the street and they were trying to get it to back into a trailer!  It was pretty funny!

We went to the Discovery Center (it’s a hands on children’s museum with lots of things to see, do, and experiment with) on that Saturday – we spent a few hours there and had a great time.  Dad worked for Mike so he didn’t have to shut down the store.  Sunday, he did shut down the store so Mike could spend the day with us.  We went to the zoo.  It was a really nice weekend – it hit 60! – so the weather was just perfect.  Sunday night Darlene took us to Joe’s Crab Shack for bday dinner #2.  So yummy, and Olivia loves the singing.  Monday I only worked a half day so Darlene wouldn’t be bored at home all day and we went to see a movie in the afternoon – Just Go with it.  It was funny.  And so nice to be able to go to a movie in the middle of the afternoon!

On his actual birthday, we went out with my parents to Tucanos for dinner #3.  HUGE salad bar, then all you can eat meat – they come around with all different kinds of meats & you can have as much or as little as you want.  It was really good – will definitely go back.

Other than all that excitement, really not much going on.  Olivia is growing so fast.  Her hair is getting darker by the day, and she is getting taller by the second.  We love having conversations with her – to see everything through her eyes, but have her explain it in her way is priceless.  She is a non-stop talker, that’s for sure…when she can’t think of anything to say, she says I love you.  So, since she can’t stand silence, she says I love you 50,000 times a day at least.  :-)   She is learning lots in school & is just doing great – she did get in trouble for talking too much (which is the same thing my sister always got in trouble for, too!) and wiggling during naptime, but overall she is doing great.  I love running errands with her now, too – we ran 3 errands yesterday & had a good time.

I took awhile off from doing the drugstore deals.  Just got kinda burnt out, and nothing looked that worthwhile – the last month, however, there have been more deals so I am back at it!  Rite Aid has given me sooo much stuff for free lately – love it!  For example – Friday I went and got 2 eyeliners, 4 nivea lipcares, and 2 packs of butterfinger snackerz (yum) for .82.  My subtotal was -.02, tax was .84, and I paid .82.  Really, how can you beat that?  But the reallllly great deal was on Prilosec for mom (she has to take it because of other meds) – 42 count boxes are 24.99, but they had a few deals going at the same time!  1st there was a coupon in the paper for $8 off of 2…I had 2 of those.  There was also a $3 off 1.  Then , for every 2 you bought, you get a $25 visa card.  Third, for every box you bought, you got $7 back from Rite Aid.  So, I paid $11 TOTAL for 6 boxes of prilosec!  How fun is that.  I love it when it works out like that!

Mike’s store is going well.  He is getting people in to consign things, so the store has lots of good stuff to sell.  He made a website, too, check it out!  Boise Pawn & Gold

I really wanted to have this blog as a journal.  I have never been able to keep up a journal for my entire life, so why I think I can keep it up here is beyond me.  It’s a good goal, and I put it on my calendar to remind me, but it just gets pushed to the bottom of the to do list every week.  I feel guilty for not recording more of her childhood…I really need to try to do better.  For me…for memories.

That’s about it.  She is going to be 4 next month, and I have no idea what we are doing for her birthday.  She is also on spring break that week, so I realllly don’t know what to do!  What do people do when their kids are out of school?  Seriously – I don’t have 5 weeks of vacation during the year to take off when she does!  It’s a dilemma…anyway, I will try to write and post more pics soon – have a good one!

lucky us
